As the famous imperial mountain in Nanjing, “the capital of ten dynasties”, the Purple Mountain, also called Zhongshan Mountain, has a history of more than two thousand years. Zhongshan International Golf Court, an upper-level green built on the imperial mountain, is known as a unique royal garden golf court for its 2,215-year royal history and 1,600 million Yuan huge investment.
The predecessor of the international golf court built in 1934
In 1934, the Republic of China government planned and built a golf court where today’s Zhongshan International Golf Court lies, which was named “Suburban Golf Court”, for the then VIPs from various foreign countries and high officials in the capital to socialize with each other and relax themselves. This was the first golf court in China then, as well as the platform for the Chinese and Western political VIPs to consult with each other in 1930s. Mrs. Song Meiling, the wife of Jiang Kaishek, the president of the then Republic of China government, often conducted her diplomatic affairs with American guests here by playing golf.
In 2005, Zhongshan International Golf Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. purchased through competition a plot in Xuanwu District, Nanjing and began to map out its golf blueprint on this plot.
